I am so very glad to be the Pastor of First Baptist Church Anson. God has placed my heart in this community and I desire to see revival and renewal among the people of Jones County ~ Mathew St. John
Mathew came to Anson in June of 2010 from the Rio Grande Valley. Prior to that he had been ministering in San Antonio TX. He recently completed a Doctorate of Ministry at Logsdon Seminary focusing on making disciples. He earned an M.Div in 2004 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1992 he graduated from Texas A&M Galveston with a degree in Marine Biology. He is a certified teacher and taught high school science for 5 years. He also enjoyed a short stint as an adjunct professor of Church History for Howard Payne University.
Preaching the Word, the lovely parts and the hard parts, is key to how Mathew feels called and equipped for ministry.
